FLORIDA

I awoke very early to see Hitty Georgina all excited for today's great adventure. "We are going to an alligator farm," she said. I was wondering what an alligator was and Hitty Georgina said it was a very large reptile that has a large mouth with many teeth and is native to Florida swamps and lakes. She also said "It is very dangerous". I don't remember in my past travels ever seeing one before. When we got to the alligator farm I was surprised to see how large they were. One, called "Granddaddy" was actually 15 feet long. It was while we were looking at this big alligator in the water when I felt something pulling on my sleeve. When I looked down, I nearly fainted. There was a baby alligator pulling on my dress sleeve. Hitty Georgina helped to remove him but throughout the day he continued to follow us. The game keeper said the baby alligator had attached himself to us and the game keeper offered him to us as a pet. He helped us put him in a small crate so I could take him with me on my other adventures. Wow!!! This is surely one special day which I will never forget.

Oh no! Lightning struck the telephone wires near Paula's house in the middle of the night and she lost all her phones and WebTV receiver she uses to communicate with her friends. What a bad day this has turned out to be. No wonder where Paula lives is called "the lightning capital of the world."

Paula took Hitty Georgina, Izzy, and I over to her friend Miss Ann's house. Miss Ann is President of the St. Petersburg Doll Club and she invited us to spend the day with her. We had a lovely time together playing with the paperdolls Julie had sent for us. Miss Ann let Paula use her computer to email Julie to let her know I would be traveling to Sylvia on Monday morning. When we got home we cleaned out my trunk and Paula even put in a real orange sachet ball so all my clothes will smell real pretty when I visit Sylvia in Texas. Paula helped me pack up my Florida Souvenirs and other things and said she would send them to Julie for me so my trunk wouldn't be so heavy.

I had so many wonderful adventures in Florida with Hitty Georgina and her family that I hate to leave. Tomorrow I travel to Sylvia in La Porte, Texas, and start a new adventure. I wonder if Sylvia has horses and cows where she lives. We shall soon see. I am so excited, it will be hard to fall asleep tonight.
