Kaye's Courtyard Templates

Cut: A--5 dark and 4--light B--4--light C--2--dark D--2--dark

Backing: 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" Batting--very thin, or even none at all--7" x 6"

Step One: take the 9--A pieces and assemble as shown. Press each seam as you sew.
Step Two: Add the Corner Triangles made with the B Template. Press each triangle as you add it to the unit from Step One.
Step Three: Add the Borders. Add the Top and Bottom first (C), and then the Sides (D).

To finish, center the batt and the top on the backing. You can hand quilt, machine quilt, or tie off for a vintage look.
When finished with that, fold the backing up and around to the top. Fold raw edges under, pin down, and sew the hem around.
