from Linda in Maryland

I helped the children put some puzzles together before they went to school.

Loraly Raikes, Julie Hitty, Ingeborg Hitty, along with some other friends are checking my trunk out this morning. Rebecca Hitty is wearing one of my outfits today.

Free time for puzzle sorting!

We are hanging around the house today. Hostess Linda thought I needed a little rest today.
SHE WAS RIGHT!

It is around 9:00am and Hostess Linda is busily in the kitchen laying my things out on the table .. She puts Julie Hitty in the trunk along with me. I can feel the car moving and we start on another journey. I can hear a voice talking and they are telling a story of me. Linda says not to be alarmed we are not just hearing voices she has put what she calls an audio tape in a place on the dash of the car. How exciting to hear my story as we drive along. We stop and all go into the house of Eleanor, a friend of Lindas. Eleanor brings out her Hittys for us to meet. She has a cowgirl Hitty made by Judy Brown, a Hitty who has a rather fleshed colored face and a beautiful Hitty by Michael Langton. We all exchange hellos and how are you and show each other some things while Linda and Eleanor fix hot tea and grilled cheese sandwiches for our lunch. Many pictures are snapped. Then Linda leaves and oh my she has left me here.................Linda oh Lindaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaato be continued...................

Love from Cumberland, Maryland, Hitty Alice

These are Raggetties and bears for service people to give to children overseas. Hitty Alice gets in on the act!

Monday morning as always is busy, we cleaned out the bird cages. Big Bird, Lindas conure, gave me a going away gift a beautiful feather from him- a new pen to write my adventures with--how sweet-I can always remember him. Al least I was not afraid of him like I was the crows-He is inside looking out at me-He HE./ Linda just put on my traveling clothes-I am so excited, Linda says she knows Elizabeth is waiting for me so Elizabeth in the morning bright and early I will be headed your way. I have had a great time here in Flintstone but can hardly wait for more adventures. Linda had Randolph take a picture and it is at the top of this page. So until I arrive at Elizabeths Ta Ta everyone. I love you all. Hitty Alice

Hitty Alice's Potato Candy

Left over mashed potatoes (I take probably about 1/2 cup mashed potatoes.)
vanilla
10 x powdered confectioners sugar
peanut butter

Amounts depend on how much you want to make

Add couple teaspoons vanilla-then add enough powdered 10 x powdered sugar to make pretty stiff-about like pie crust-roll out thin-spread with creamy peanut butter-roll up like jelly roll-put in refrigerator until well chilled (I let in sit overnight)-take out-slice in 1/4 or larger slices-eat-enjoy-you roll it out on a surface sprinkled with the sugar

If you make for first time might want to start with less potatoes to make sure you will like it.
It is easy and all so good.

Can you believe it is Friday already. We were up at 6:00am this morning. I gave Hostess Linda a scare this morning. I made some or I might say helped Linda make potatoe candy this morning. She was going to take my picture but I had powdered sugar all over me and looked just like a ghost(HEHE). Talk about jumping into our work. Linda has been working on some crafts for a fall festival at the end of the month. She asked if I thought I could glue the hair on Raggetty for her. I just love to help. Well have decided to pull over a chair and rest for awhile. It will not be too long and I will be traveling again.
