Hitty Comfort's Visit with Yvonne

Hitty Comfort is here and settling in with the Puget Sound Hittys. She was surprised to find it so hot here. "We're in the midst of a heat wave," Hitty Elizabeth told her. "It is 106 degrees outside!" "That's hotter than it was in DALLAS," declared Comfort. Hitty Comfort was glad to hear it will be cooler today...only 96 degrees...but the girls have decided a stay-inside day would be a good idea.

It is with great sadness that the Puget Sound Hittys bid a fond farewell to Hitty Comfort today. She is all packed and ready to head to Julie's house! We had a good time, although it was rather hectic around here with a nephew's wedding over the weekend and the descending hoard of relatives at our house! Fortunately, Hittys are able to entertain themselves. I'm not sure what was going on in the mansion, but it sounded like a party...

Meanwhile, while my daughter was here, she was telling us about a return trip to So. Africa that she's making in a few months--she's a park ranger in Alaska, and signed up for a safari guide course at the big park in SA (Kruger) This doesn't mean she's going to dump her ranger gig and emigrate...no...she just thought it sounded like fun. (yes, wandering around where there are many animals who would happily eat you...FUN!) THEN she'll have a couple weeks to visit our relatives there again. My Dad's cousins. What does this have to do with Hittys, you may ask? Go ahead. Ask. I'll wait. Dum de dum...Oh? Done already? WELL! Okay, I'll tell you! lol Liz talked us into going along. Not for the safari guide course, but the two or so weeks after. Naturally, Hitty Elizabeth is excited, since she is the Hitty-Traveler in the family. I was wondering, have any of you spotted a Hitty-sized pith helmet anywhere? Wouldn't want her wee wooden head to get too much sun, you know...she might need binoculars too. Hmm...must do some HITTY SHOPPING!!!
