Hitty Comfort's Visit with Josie

Hooray! Travel Hitty Comfort arrived! Some of the Fuller Hittys swarmed the box as soon as it arrived.
Hitty Gert checked the return address and said "Yes! This is it!".
Hitty Jane gave little Hitty Janette a boost so she could see the label for herself.
Even freshly assembled Gail Wilson Hitty (still awaiting a name) joined in the fun.

They quickly opened the box and started hauling out wonderful hostess gifts as they searched inside for their houseguest.

What a wonderful welcome I got on my first stop! I could hear lots of giggling as I lay snug in my travel box.
Soon, little wooden spoon hands were helping me emerge. They loved looking at all the hostess gifts that accompanied me.
I heard my person hostess, Josie, say it would be fun getting to pick 2 of them.

Hitty Marie Winslow gave me a big welcome hug first and then I began to meet all the other Hittys.
Oh my! I think they need nametags! I shall never remember all their names.

They quickly escorted me to a place called Dithering Heights which turned out to be their lovely home built by a famous Hitty home builder.
I believe they said her name was Wizzy. Hitty Sarah held the door open for me but
little Hitty Janette wanted me to meet their dog, Mr. McPherson, first. He was quite friendly.

Once inside, I was shown into the parlor where Hitty Jane had a rocking chair waiting for me.
Little Hitty Janette tried to take off my shoes to give my feet a rest - then remembered that Hitty boots aren't removable.
All the big Hittys laughed at that - except for Hitty Jana who I understand hails from the Ozarks and is perpetually barefoot.
I think she felt a little sorry for me, being confined to boots. Mine are quite comfortable, however.

They had a lovely cuppa waiting for me - much appreciated after the long trip.
Even had a yummy scone to go with it.

I'm afraid I was still very tired and ready for an early night, so dear Hitty Sarah showed me to the guest bedroom.
I know I'll sleep very well my first night here. I heard talk of a trip to Houston for Easter - I think
I heard them say I might get to go with Hitty Sarah!

I'll be sure to let you know what I'm up to. Being a travel Hitty is so much fun!

Yours,
Hitty Comfort

I have certainly been kept busy here in Texas! I got to accompany Josie and Hitty Sarah
to the Houston area for Easter.

Josie's little 3 year old granddaughter, Anna,
made me very welcome. She immediately insisted I change clothes, so she helped me into a new dress
(Josie tells me this is a trait of all 3 year olds). Sarah's dress was also changed.

Later, we had a lovely tea party and Sarah and I, along with a fellow named Mr. Peeps, were the guests of honor.

The cups were a little larger than I could handle but dear Anna was happy to help.

We returned to Dallas where I had lots of time to visit with all the Fuller Hittys - and rest up for the big luncheon!

Yours,
H. Comfort

Hitty Sarah and I paused long enough from hunting Easter eggs to have our photo taken in our Easter bonnets - and flowery frocks!

Next, Hitty Sarah and I accompanied Josie to a local antique mall where we were joined by lots of friends.

We gathered in the tea room for lunch - and lots of conversation. There were so many different Hittys there!
And even some very distant Hitty relatives! It was great fun! And then we shopped!

Hitty Sarah had presented me with a cowboy hat to wear - we are in Texas, after all.

Stay tuned for more photos - y'all!

Howdy, again!

These Texas Hittys are a very friendly bunch! Valerie's Bitty Zita crawled right up in my lap!

Such a sweet child! Eileen's Hittys all gathered round for a photo - Patience, Josie, Seamus and Bluebonnet.
Seamus isn't exactly a Hitty, but he's a very nice fellow. Myra's Hitty (oh dear, I've forgotten her name!) and Sarah also posed for photos.

I hated to say good-bye to them all, 'though I will see Patience and some others at Josie's doll club meeting tomorrow.
I told them I'm sure we can stay in touch through Hittygirls.

On the way home from our luncheon, Josie stopped to snap a photo of me in some bluebonnets - the state flower of Texas.

She snapped very quickly as the bees were also visiting the bluebonnets!

What a fun day I've had! I shall sleep well in my bed tonight!

I'll try to write again after the doll club meeting - and before I set off on Monday for my next adventure!
