July 1st Picnic

Celebrating our countrys birthday

Hello Friends,

Well my stay in Pittsburgh has come to an end! What a time I have had. I so enjoyed helping with the gardens, that was great fun, and hiding from Bobbie when she tried to take my photos. he he he

We had plans for a picnic and then a movie, but the flood happened in Bobbie's office. Poor thing had to work long and hard for about a week, in sloppy water. Well I just couldn't leave the Pittsburgh Hittys when their person was so occupied. The tragedy was the loss of all of the diplomas for the students who graduated in April! What a mess, things floating everywhere, and oh my how stinky the office got.

Well now things are back under control, the planned picnic was a great success! OH I did learn to drive a motor car while I was here. It was great fun, but not something that I feel a strong desire to do again soon, and I certainly prefer traveling to my other hostesses by postal bus. Driving to Iowa would be tedious and very lonely, not to mention extremely long.

After we had our July 1st picnic we stayed at the park as they have movies after dusk every Wednesday night. We got to see "Tinkerbell" and "The Trouble with Angels". OH I so did enjoy that. HItty Colleen treated everyone to popcorn and cokes! We sat on quilts and blankets with lots of other folks and enjoyed the movies. Poor little Poppy fell asleep on Nanny Bliss' lap. I am putting some photos of my last days here in the Comfort album.

This family is fun, warm and busy all the time, they have a rather large beast here and 2 smaller ones that frightened me a bit, but Hitty Elizabeth assured me that they were harmless. Nanny Bliss said they do take some getting used to, but are pretty nice.

Well my next posting will be from Des Moines, I am sure Rebecca will have great adventures in store for me during my visit.

Warm hitty hugs
Hitty Comfort
