People have been improvising dolls for centuries, nearly always using a
found object, or group of objects. The idea of this swap is to make your
partner a lovely Hitty from objects you find. There is no 'right' way - only
"your" way to complete this swap. You can add treasures, but be sure they
are also made from found objects.

Joan Steiner is an author who has done a series of picture books titled
Lookalikes, where every day objects are used to make scenes. Here is a link

Got the idea? This swap is a puzzle, with a surprise ending - what could be
more fun? Enjoy the game. Here are the rules:

#1. Shopping is allowed but only from second hand sources. Castoffs and
things found in your home and nature should be your main sources.

#2. Make sure your parts are safe so you don't harm yourself or your
swapper. My resident techie warns not to use metal parts from electronics as
they are soldered with lead and include other nasties. Plastic parts are
fine if cleaned, however.

#3. Due to the nature of this swap, there is no strict height restriction
but try to stay close to 6.5" so Hitty fits into her new home.

#4. For those who have a precise nature, reassure yourself that the charm of
found objects is imperfection - in fact, sometimes they are comically so.
For those who are more make-do, you're great at improvising; now let's see
how discerning you can be. The secret to great found art is walking the line
between both mindsets. The goal, as always, is to send your partner a Hitty
you'd be delighted to receive.

#5 Save any parts that are left over - this can be addictive fun and you'll
want to make more!

Have fun!
