A portable bag for travelers; -- so called because originally made of
carpet.

Encarta: traveling bag: a traveling bag made of a thick fabric
such as carpet, commonly used in the 19th century
While real carpet may be much to heavy for Hitty,
one could always use a fabric that suggests carpet, such as tapestry
fabrics.
The bag should be made like a large
soft sided 'suitcase', (Hitty-size, of course).
One could use upholstry fabric that is not too heavy or cotton that
has a print that resembles it.
Perhaps even a large knitted bag or crocheted bag!
We'll leave it up tp to everyone's imagination, as long as it fits the
dictionary descriptions above.
