Crocheted Hat and Dress

#7 steel hook
size 10 crochet thread

Note:
V st= (dc, ch 2, dc) Shell= (2dc, ch 2, 2dc)

Row 1: ch 5, join to make a ring, ch 3, 13 dc in ring, join.
Row 2: ch 3, dc in same space as joining, 2 dc on ea st around (28 dc) join.
Row 3: ch 3, dc in next dc, and in ea st across (28 dc) join.
Row 4: repeat row 3
Row 5: ch 5, dc in same sp, *skip 1 dc, ( dc, ch2, dc) in next st*, repeat from * to* around. (14 V sts) join.
Row 6: sl st to first ch 2 sp, (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in first ch 2 sp, shell of (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp, and in ea ch 2 sp around. (14 shells) join.
Row 7: ch 1, sc in next 2 dc, *(sc, ch 2 sc) in ch 2 sp, sc in next 4 dc, repeat from * around. sl st in first ch 1 to join. end off.

Run a 1/8" ribbon through row 4 (over two st and under 2 st) around, tie in a bow and adjust to fit Hitty's head. You can stiffen the hat with heavy starch or a fabric stiffener if desired..

Size 10 Crochet thread (I used Knitcrosheen)
Hook: size 5 steel

Bodice:
Row I
: ch 22, sc in second ch from hook and ea ch across (21sc),ch 3, turn
Row 2: sk first sc, hdc in next sc,*ch1, hdc in next sc*, repeat from*to* across (20 hdc and 19 ch 1 spaces. ch1, turn
Row 3: sc in ea hdc and ea ch 1 sp across (39sc) ch 2, turn
Row 4: dc in first 5 sc, ch 3, skip next 7 sc, dc in next 13 sc, ch 3, skip next 7 sc, dc in last 6 sc. ch 3 turn
Row 5: hdc in first 5 dc, 1 hdc in ea of the ch 3 sts, hdc in next 13 dc, 1 hdc in each st of ch 3 sts, hdc in last 6 dc. ch 1, turn
Row 6: sc in ea st across, (32 sc-you must have 32 sc in this row) ch 4, turn.
Row 7: skip first sc, dc in next sc, *ch 1, skip next sc, dc in next sc* repeat from * to* across, ending whth a dc. (1 ch 4 and 16 dc posts) ch1. do not turn
Row 8:
working up back of bodice, with right side of dress facing you,
work 2 sc around post of last dc of row 7,
work 1 sc in end of rows 6 and 5,
work 2 sc in end of row 4,
work 1 sc in end of row 3, ch 4,
work 1 sc in the end of row 1
slip st in each of the chains across the top of the bodice
working back down the other side,
work 1 sc in end of row 1,
work 2 sc in end of row 2,
work 1 sc in end of row 3,
work 2 sc in end of row 4,
work 1 sc in the end of row 5 and 6
work 2 sc around the post of row 7, ch 1
Row 9: work 1 sc in top of ch 3 post from row 8, * sc in top of next dc post, sc in next ch 1 sp* repeat from * to * across, 1 sc in last dc post and in first sc from row 8. ( 32 sc) ch 3, turn

Skirt

Note: V st=(dc, ch2, dc) Shell=(2dc, ch2, 2dc)
Row 10:
skip first sc, work one v st of (dc, ch 2 dc )in every other sc across row ( make the V stitch directly above the posts in row 9), end dc in last sc, ch (15 V sts , 1 ch 3 post (at beg of row) and one dc( at end of row) ch 3, turn
Row 11: *shell of (2dc, ch 2, 2dc ) in first ch 2 space, V st in next ch 2 sp* repeat from * to * across, end dc in top of first ch 3 sp, ch 2, sl st in top of first ch 3 of row to join. DO NOT TURN. 8 shells, and 8 V sts( including joining)
Row 12: Working in rounds now, all on the front side: sl st in first 2 dc of first shell, sl st in ch 2 of first shell, (ch 3, dc, ch 2 , 2 dc) in first shell, shell of (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each ch 2 space across, including ch 2 before joining (16 shells) join to ch 3 of first shell.
Row 13-22: ( or to desired length) Repeat row 12
Last row: ch 1 sc in first 2 dc, *(sc, ch 2 sc) in ch 2 sp, sc in next 4 dc* repeat from * across, end sl st in first ch to join. End off.

Sleeves

Row 1
: working from the back side of the dress, attach thread in second underarm st, ch 1, slip a marker around stitch, sc in same space, sc in next st, 2 hdc around bar of dc from bodice row 4, 7 hdc across free shoulder sts,2 hdc around bar of dc from row 4 of bodice sc in first underarm st,, join with a sl st to first sc ( 15 sts) ch 1, turn. Move marker up
Row 2: sc in first 2 sc, 1 hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next 9 hdc,hdc in next hdc,sc in ea of last 2 sc, join with sl st.(24 sts) ch 1, turn, move marker up
Row 3: sc in first 2 sc, hdc in ea of next 20 hdc, sc in last 2 sc. Join with a sl st (24 sts) ch 1, turn, move marker up
Row 4: sc in first sc, * skip next sc, sc in next st, repeat from *around (12 sc) join with sl st, ch 1 turn move marker up.
Row 5: sc around ( 12 sc) join with a sl st.
Row 6: sl st around loosely, end off.
