The Doll’s House
Week of November 25, 2007

Chapter Three:

It is late autumn. The smell of bonfires, of newly lit chimneys, of fog and wet leaves fill the London air. Winter is approaching.

The little Plantaganet family is cold in their shoe-box home. Mr. Plantaganet begins to suffer from the cold and Tottie is worried about him.

Then it happened. Great Aunt Laura, the owner of the antique dolls’ house that Tottie spoke of, died. What is to happen to the doll house? A letter arrives at the household announcing that the dollhouse will go to Emily and Charlotte. There is much excitement amongst the two girls and the Plantaganet family!! No more cold shoe boxes to live in, no more dark toy cupboards, no more dark at all as they shall have a little lamp, and there will be blankets on the beds. Best of all, they will have privacy when the doors to the doll house are closed.

Yes, there is definitely excitement and anticipation in the household this autumn.

BUT, there is that foreboding ending again, “they had forgotten Marchpane.” What is to come?
