Chapter Seven Discussion and Comments

Things are definitely looking up in this chapter, both because of the increased sales of Nurse Nora and other dolls the family has made and also because of the more relaxed attitude of the girls' Papa who is less stressed about providing for his family. I was so excited for the girls to finally have his permission to keep the left-behind dolls for themselves. The girls have loved and cared for the dolls, even though they belonged to someone else and in spite of their imperfect condition. To a child without a doll, condition does not matter, and these dolls were loved every bit as much as they would have been had they been whole and unblemished. I'm very happy for the dolls and for their new little mothers.
