Chapter Six Discussion and Comments

When I was reading this chapter, I noticed what a lot of time and effort went into making the Nurse Nora dolls by all the members of the family.  I know times were different, that what we perceive as a little money was a lot back then.  A dollar was a huge amount of money, particularly for a doll.  Yet I can't help comparing it to the efforts many of us expend carving Hitty dolls only to receive little money in return.  But there is a satisfaction factor that comes from making a doll and knowing it is going to be loved by someone, and you can't really put a price on that.
